What happens to what you type
Translation, audio generation, WAV files, message cards and the quiz all run in your web browser. The text and Morse you enter are not sent to Morse Orbit or anyone else.
Files you choose for the decoders
Audio and image files selected in the decoder tools are read and analysed on your device. They are not uploaded. The tools only accept audio files up to 10 MB and images up to 8 MB.
Share links
If you choose to create a share link, your message is placed in the link itself (after the # symbol). That part of a link is not sent to our servers when it is opened, but anyone who has the link can read the message, and it may be stored by the apps you share it through. Only share messages you are comfortable making visible.
Messages sent through the contact form
If you use the contact form, we store the name, email address, topic and message you enter, the time it was sent, and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your network address. The hashed address cannot be turned back into your IP address; it is used only to limit how many messages can be sent from one network and block spam. This information is used only to read and reply to your message. It is not sold, shared for marketing or combined with anything you translate.
What your browser stores
If you switch between light and dark themes, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key morse-orbit-theme. No other preference, message or progress is stored. Clearing your site data removes it.
Server logs and hosting
Like any website, the hosting provider receives standard technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This information is not combined with anything you type.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
Analytics and advertising
Morse Orbit currently uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated first, and where required you will be asked for consent. Any future analytics will never include the content of your messages or files.
Children
The contact form is the only place Morse Orbit asks for personal details. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
