How to enter Morse code
Type a dot as . and a dash as -, leave one space after each letter and use / between words. The decoder reads each group of dots and dashes as one character from the International Morse table.
- Switch the translator to Morse → Text (this page starts there).
- Enter or paste the code, for example
-- --- .-. ... . / -.-. --- -.. .. - Read the text on the right. Press Play to hear it, or Swap to edit the text and re-encode it.

Troubleshooting a decode
Letters run together
.-.- is not two A's — without a space it is one unknown group. Write .- .- for “AA”.
Everything comes out as one word
Add a slash between words. The decoder never guesses word breaks from long gaps in typed text.
Some symbols are unsupported
Codes for !, & and ; are common online but are not in the ITU table, so they are shown as unknown. See the alphabet page for the separate list of non-standard codes.
