Morse code speed test
Random letter groups can't be guessed from context, so they show your real copying speed.
Signal settings
Sets the length of every dot and dash.
Lower it to stretch gaps between letters and words only.
How to use the speed test
- Pick a character set and how many five-character groups to send.
- Set the character speed and, if you like, a slower Farnsworth speed.
- Press Start and type each character as you hear it. Don't stop on a miss — leave it and keep going.
- Press Check to compare your copy with what was sent.
Reading your score
Your copying speed is the fastest setting at which you reliably score about 90% or more. If you score lower, reduce the Farnsworth speed rather than the character speed, so letters still sound the same. When you pass comfortably, raise the effective speed by 1–2 WPM.
